1998 EK Hatch OBD2 Wiring Problem - Test your Skills
Thanks for looking. Here is a good chance to test your skills, help others who have similar problems, and help me get this car running correctly.
Here is the vehicle and info as of right now:
1998 Honda Civic DX Hatch
1994 GSR Block, GSR Crank, O.S. Civic Si Pistons
1994 GSR Head, Type R Cams, Skunk 2 Manifold, TypeR T.B., DC Header, 5Zigen Exhaust - Primary and Secondary O2 sensors in the pipe - NO Catalytic.
Wiring:
1998 Civic DX Wiring Harness , 1998 GS-R Computer - I tried a 1998 JDM Type R Computer (the original plan) but it did not start.
The vehicle uses a JDM SI-R Cluster (functioned correctly prior to swap)
Modified:
VTEC Pressures sensor run - ok
VTEC Switch run - ok
Primary 02 Extended by pulling back sheilding - ok
Secondary 02 Extended by pulling back sheilding - ok
IACV- Converted from three wire to two wire - color for color, orange taped off. No change to ECU side of pins. --I could not correctly determine the change that was needed. The information on the web is for a 99+ EK with a 00-01 DC2 ECU. -- I still have a code 14.
Intake Temp - rewired to fit factory Skunk2 location -ok
Crank Angle/Fluctuation Sensor wired from three to two wire - ok
Knock Senor run to ECU -ok
Note* this is a motor that has had every seal, bearing and rubber piece replaced new on it (not important, but may help diagnose)
PROBLEMS:
1. CODE 14 MIL Light
2. No Temperature reading on Guage Cluster (worked prior to swap) - I grounded the wire and the guage moves ever-so-slightly. The sensor metered out correctly.
3. No decernable VTEC Engagement
4. False Redline of 6700 on a 1998 GSR ECU and tried a 1996 EX VTEC computer and the Redline was 5700 rpm (both redlines 1500 rpm short of the inteded fuel cut)
5. No Fan engagement. - I checked the sensor and it functions normally, I grounded the plug and the fan comes on.
Thanks to all who spend the time helping me sort this out!!!!

If you click on http://www.phear7imports.net/subs/btroop/trey then on EK swap guide, you'll get some juicy info on the IAVC Code 14 issue.
Another option would be to use the OBDI ecu and Hondata since you are using an OBDI block.
