simple motor question
i found a 98 civic something with a vtec e motor in it. it is hit hard in the ass, with 31,xxx miles on it. i can get it for 700.00. is it a good deal...and what is the differance between vtec and vtec e?

also .....i am planing on boosting this....

The VTEC-e engines are designed to use VTEC solely for economy. VTEC still allows a bit more power to be made, but it's primary role is to conserve gas.

If you can fix it cheap, go for it.
Building either of the VTEC-E engines is a waste of time though, it isn't really VTEC. VTEC-E uses a system of valve deactivation to save gas while true VTEC has a system of switching cam profiles to make power.
Swap on a D16Y8 head, intake manifold and computer. Build from there.
