Default No Power. Help!

My friend has a 93 Dodge Spirit (don't ask me why) and it is getting no electrical power at all. We tried to jump it and nothing. The lights don't even come on, but occasionally it will get full power for just a few seconds and then it dies again (so I'm pretty sure nothing is wrong with the battery). It seemed as if the problem was the ground terminal before, but now since I can't jump it I don't know what the problem is. One thought is maybe the ground wire connected to the ground terminal is loose or has a short. What do you guys think?

PS If we bought a new ground terminal, would it come with the whole ground wire?

check the battery cables.. they might be loose, or full of corrosion. I would also check the fuses.

fuses are good. Gonna replace the ground wire for the battery and cross our fingers.

Make sure all the alternator connections are tight, as well as ground leads from the battery to the unibody, and to the engine block/tranny somewhere.

hey... spirits are decent cars... about 75% japanese. May i point out the 92 Spirit R/T boasting 225HP? plus... my pops has a 94 with 140K on it... still clickin...

put a meter to the batt and see if the reading is good. if you dont have the 12volts there, check ground and try again. if you still dont get the 12volts, the battery is dried up. Replace.

hey paaloo, thanx for defending my car *grins* it's got something like 140 hp, but maybe i'll be giving this up for a 340 hp car *grins* fixed the problem, turns out there was a) too little water in the battery, and b) a wire to one of my neon light tubes got smashed and was shorting into the car's chassy ... good way to **** up a car's electrical system, eh? thanx for all your help guys!!

joe...

if u plan on keeping the spirit.... have the altenator checked out... it could be overcharging your batt causing it to dry up.

340? dont tell me you are ditchin the 93' general lee for a stang... lol

neon lights in any car less than 10 feet and with a name doesnt rhyme with cuisine... is dumb. =P
