d16z6 into a 2000 coupe
How hard would it be to switch from my 00 d16y5 to a d16z6? I know that I would need a new ecu, the p28. But other than that, what would I need? Would I need new motor mounts? Would the d16z6 harness just plug right into my firewall plug? Help me out, I found a good deal on a d16z6, ohh I also have apexi turbo kit to throw on. Let me know.
If you want a bolt-in swap, you need the D16Y8 and ECU from a '99-'00 Civic. I think you could get away with a '96-'98 D16Y8 if you used a '99+ ECU (there were small changes in the wiring but I think only on the ECU side, I don't know for sure).
For a D16Z6 swap, you will need an OBD IIb (make sure it's designed for '99+ Civic's) to OBD I ECU conversion harness and an OBD I ECU. I believe you could just reuse your stock mounts, but I've never tried.

Thank you good sir. I might just try that. I have two engines lined up. So. . . It just depends on which one I get. I'll keep you informed, also will take pics of the process. Turbo and swap baby, boost is bitchen.
