Default So which way does it spin?

Does an H22's rotating assembly spin in a different direction than say...a Chevy 350?

Hondas spin counter clockwise when viewed from the pulleys on the front. Nearly all domestics spin clockwise.

So then, what about Honda engines that sit the opposite direction of the H22 and the B18?

The only Honda engines that spin the "normal" clockwise way are the K-series, the F20C (S2000), and the D17A (new Civics).

All the oldie-but-goodie B-series, H-series, D-series 1.6l and smaller, the other F's, etc. spin "backwards"

Those are the Inline 4's, I don't know about the C and J series V6's. The G25A Inline 5 spun "backwards" though.

The change was done so Honda could start selling their engines to other companies.

I'm pretty sure the V6s spins clockwise.

That's what I was thinking, but I'm not 100% about it.

So then what, exactly, determines what way an engine spins? Is there any way to reverse it?
