HELP where to find old honda parts?(86lude)
as some of you know im going to get a 1986 honda prelude Si from one of my friends im getting it for a few hundred bucks and the body is in good condition needs a paint job though but the motor is at about 260,000 miles and still running strong but i really aint sure how long it'll last so im planning to drop an H22A1 in it and build off of that but first i wanna get some suspension work and other stuff out of the way. this is where i get slowed down. there seem to be alot of places that you can find parts for old civics CRXs and cars like that that werent really sports cars of there day it is seeming to be a lot of searching to find parts for this car. i did find a couple of suspension kits by Tokico(i think that how you spell it) for four and six hundred dollars. the car also has needs ad new rack and pinion my friend said anyone know any places that have parts like these any places that specialize in old school honda parts? thanks
There are some online salvage companies that can help you out, but I don't remember the addresses offhand.
You're going to have a hellofa time fitting an H22A in there. The entire engine bay is going to need rewiring and it's going to take a LOT of 100% custom parts. Not to mention probably some banging and cutting.
Unless you have a lot of free cash sitting around that you don't mind saying "goodbye" to forever, you should probably keep that car stock as a daily beater. Don't get me wrong, I like the older 'ludes, but it is just too cost-preventive to build one up.
