Default civic mini-me (tech help needed)

a friend and i are doing this mini-me swap on his civic dx. putting an ex head on it we got from Japan Direct out of Raleigh NC it also came with intake manifold and there are a few parts that were gonna have to change. but the thing i was wondering/worried about was that the pages that we have seen are saying that we're going to be getting about 12:1 compression that seems to me to be very high. they say to use 93 octane fuel but from what i have heard 93 may not be high enough and dentonation will become a problem. How safe for the motor is it to run such high compression?for anyone done this setup how did it turn out? any tips on what to or not to do? any input will be helpful? thanks

93 octane will get you up to about 12.5:1.

I don't think your compression will be that high though.

umm compression shouldnt be that high but u should be fine as far as knocking goes, thats why the newer cars have knock sensors that retard the timing if they sense issues, but really unless uve got a really thin head gasket or uve changed pistons or shaved the head u shouldnt be that high... but whatever

Where are you looking? I seriously doubt that you will be anywhere near 12:1
