Default Please respond d16z6 into 95 cx

alright here is the deal I bought a 50,000 mile 95 si engine with the complete engine harness and ecu. I need to know if that will work like straight bolt up or whatever else I may need to do please help me I really don't know if my vtec will work like this or not. Do I need the harness from the ecu to the engine compartment or not? help me

Should be a direct bolt-in affair.

With the engine harness, it should bolt right in.


However, the wiring on the firewall side can be a little iffy depending on year of production and a whole buncha other stuff.

both the engine and the car are 95's mine is a cx the engine, engine harness, and ecu are all out of a 95 Si

Your chassis should be wired for vtec so if you use the D16Z6 harness then it should be a bolt-in affair. I put a D15B SOHC VTEC in my cousins 95 DX Coupe using my old D16Z6 harness and it worked great.

I put a b18c1 in my 94 CX and it wasn't wired for VTEC.

Yeah, there is no reason his car should be wired for vtec. The 92 model year 5th gen hatches (just hatches? coupes/sedans too?) all are. But his probably isn't if it started it's life as a non-vtec model.
