Default ls/vtec ecu

for an ls/vtec motor to go into a 88-91 crx what kind of ecu would have to be used? Would some kind of Hondata work? If so what one?

Use a 90-91 PR4 and an RPM activated switch for VTEC control.

You could also use a PR3 or PW0 if you want to run VTEC the right way, however they may run a bit lean.

How good at wiring are you? I might reccomend keeping the engine OBD1, and maybe getting a hasport OBD0->OBD1 engine conversion harneess and ecu crossover harness.

Then I would run a chipped P28 ecu. Unless you have a GSR manifold with the secondaries, in which case I'd run a chipped P72 (expensive). I'd reccomend ditching the GSR IM if that is what you have.

Assuming the engine is OBD-1.

What head are you using, and what model year did it come from?
