Are Camaros good for anything except drag racing?

Yup... my FWD is worthless. I hate it. Ever try launching a FWD V6? It sucks, and is pretty hard to do without spinning or bogging. Can you say "clutch slip?"

He didn't say "any RWD is faster than any FWD"... but it just happens to be the case for 80% of cars out there. Notice that any car that runs 14.0 or better from the factory is either RWD or AWD, with very very few notable exceptions, of which my only current guess would be the SRT neon. Same goes for the handling department, with a possible exception being the Mini Cooper S, since its basically a go-kart with that sickly low center of gravity. It can corner with a porche, trust me.

BTW ... not very nice to single me out and attack my car in particular. I never made any claims about my own vehicle's performance, but I will make one right now.-- Yes, I can probably smoke your neighbor's econoline van.

Respond to Nathan's post, he's the one you need to be defending your viewpoint against.

Exactly.

Yes... it is. And the one in the article is one of the weaker (385 hp) and less grippy 2001 models. You could probably knock a few more seconds off of that time with the '02+ 405 hp models.

This is just about the most stupid worthless thread ever started "on-topic"...

So you may say don't post in it, well maybe it'll give mods the idea to :closed: this annoyance of a debate.

I don't have a problem with anyone here or with the points being made in this post. What I do have a problem with is the sarcastic tone of the initial post. The thread wasn't made to inform, it was made to continue an already locked post - hence all the quotes and smilie.

This thread could have easily been a sanctuary for useful information, but instead has been another attempt at 'mine is bigger than yours' and 'you're a dumbass, I'm right', which is why the last one was closed.

The FF - FR debate is as old and as annoying as the Turbo - Super debate. I have no problem with debates, they usually bring out a lot of great information. The problem (as I've already explained) with this thread is it is not a debate, it's sole purpose is to 'own' someone based on some fact and some opinion.

This will be closed as I do not see any reply being beneficial to anyone on the board, just an open thread for someone to post "owned" or "wow, you really showed him".

If another thread is made because of the demise of this one, make it more worth while please.

Thanks!
