When I had my GSX it would simply die after third gear. AWD + Small Turbo = No top end. Not sure of the size of the stock turbo in a WRX though.

WRX's= SO SLOW from a roll. My friend in his stock WRX vs me in my automatic Accord w/intake...he would destroy me through first/second but from 50+ I would kill him. Track times he got 2.0 60' and I got 2.3 60'...yet overall it was 14.6 for him and 14.8 for me, and from 1/8th mile on I was pulling on him considerably.

The WRX's have decent top end up to 200km/h (130-140mph/). I've seen some Subbies race against a supercharged Maxima and they were pretty even.

After 200 the WRX doesn't go that fast. Against an Cadillac STS they were dead even after 200.

You should not be scared of anything, respect maybe, but no fear. Those WRX's are pretty brutal off the line, but their forte is sort of a mirror image of the GSR, which is weak on the bottom, strong on top, where the subie is strong off the line, but peters out when the speed gets big

I guess its all relative. What constitutes "decent?" I'm not a big fan of the drivetrain loss of AWD, thats why I bought a Z instead of an EVO or STi.

from a 3rd gear roll (im assuming 60+) the wrx isn't going to be very fast. race him from a stop or even a first gear roll and i promise you the results will be MUCH different.

RWD is nice until you have enough power to lose traction in 2nd, then you'd like AWD. Of course you had the stock turbo which is nothing compared to even a minor upgrade such as the fp-t28.
