A set of cushioned drag springs, locking differential, and adjustable lower control arms are all that's required for performamce drag racing bite. (among other things if you are in all out competition) Everyone always complains about weight so what is the attraction to heavy 4wd vehicles other than the fact that they do well on stock tires?

Notice the parts under a drag perpared car's front end........light weight K-member, smaller rims and smaller tires.........for weight saving measures and for weight transfer. RWD is the ticket for racing unless you're talking mud racing or RALLY.

It's more than stock tires. Shepherd runs 1.3 60's on 26x8x16" slicks which isn't a very big slick. It looks like a stock sized tire from the side. On top of that he doesn't even launch it at it's full potential which is why he pulls higher trap speeds than most of his competitors around the same ETs.
