Default Molded Body parts

there's been some front end damage to my car so i'm replacing the stock front. The bumper needs to be painted and while i'm doing that i was wondering how fill in the gaps between all the front end peices- lower bumper and fenders. is it hard to do myself??? has anyone done this?

if i apply some kind of filler and i assume i sand it down even,,, do i need to paint the whole car? or can i just paint the spots? will the paint job look like crap?

i really want this molded look... oem but no creases

is it expensive to have a shop do this?

any pointers/experience on this would be great

It will be expensive for a body shop to do this. A good body shop usually starts at 80-100 bucks per hr for labor. You would have to paint everything not just the spots.

I have seen some diy jobs like this around here and they only look good for a couple of months then everything started coming apart because of chassis flex and road wear. They had used a urethane filler and then a body filler over it and it looked like crap.

If you try it use a flex agent in the paint it may help reduce the spiderwebbing between the urethane and sheet metal panels.

go to a local automotive paint store and buy panel adhesive. it is a two part adhesive. you might have to buy the gun for it but it wouldnt be to expensive. for the gun and adhesive it might run you 60 but well worth it. i molded my front kit to my car and it works awsome. it bridged the gap perfeclty. just remember to put enough in there, let it dry over night or atleast for 6 hours. sand and apply bondo.
