can i prep my car myself?
What kind of primer do you guys suggest, and what kind of spray gun would one need to apply it. I am thinking about doing this to my accord and having it painted. But I would need a little body filler from when i was hit in the side.
What kind of spray gun would work the best for just doing the primer, and the black mist you talked about?

after you prime up the car...you can block it...you can get any color that will stand out...like blue, red, and so on...lightly spray in over the primer...not covering just misting it on...then...you wetsand the car...once you wet sand over the spray paint...your done with that spot..its just so you dont miss any spots while wetsanding.
so let me get this straight, i have a car that needs to be painted because of the addition of a body kit and other accessories. i have already gone over original gel coat with a touch up spray can just so i wouldnt have to drive around with a multi color car. the paint is somewhat gritty however due to the overspray from the spray can. can i still just prime the whole car with a few coats and not have to worry about the roughness as long as i apply the black layer aftery the primer to wet sand doesnt sound too complicated if this is the case. ne specific grit sandpaper u think i should use?
