NGK is what came stock in most Hondas. The platinum plugs are over rated IMO.

I've never really understood why people care so much about their spark plugs. The spark plug has a limited responsibility--to ignite the fuel/air mixture. Seems to me that as long as the plug does this reliably, nothing else matters. A more expensive plug will last you longer, but plugs are so easy to swap out on our hondas that you can easily replace the cheaper plugs more often than the more expensive ones and still save money. If somebody has a good argument for spending $6 instead of $3 per plug, I'd like to hear it.

The only problem I see with the Platinum plugs is people let them go longer because they are supposed to last longer, but a problem arrises when you try to take them out and they bring part of the head with them because they've been heated/cooled so many times that they basically gall as soon as you try to back them out of the head. GM had a huge problem with this with their 100K mile service interval.

i think this argument comes from the same mentality of those who think that any ground(in terms of electical) will work just the same. this is not true.

i think the same goes with the spark. not every spark will be equal. and i think thats why there r so many different plugs.

but i've also heard that the platinum's were over rated but to not settle for the cheaper ones. i'd go for the middle ground on this one.

I'm running Bosch platinum +4 plugs in mine, not because my ngk's were insufficent, but because for nitrous use, they're a colder running plug, due to the 4 electrode design, and I head that the ZEX 3 electrode plugs suck ass. But i'm definately happy w/ my bosches... never teied Densos, but i've heard that for n/a they're a good buy.
