the easiest way to shave you emblems...
.......Use bondo because fiberglass resin is too runny to seal the holes. First you wet sand the holes with 400 grit sandpaper so that the bondo has something porous to adhere to. I put about three coats of bondo on. The first application will be enough so that the next two have something to stick to. After that: Wet sand the area. Mask the three areas and primer. Remove the masking and wet sand again so it's extremely smooth with no ridges, dips, or grooves. Mask your hatch glass and surrounding area - you can't cover too much as the mist is quite fine. Then paint your hatch. If you use paint in a spray can - shoot several coats of clear coat afterwards. If you use a paint gun, as I did, the hardener will effectively seal the paint and make it nice and shiny.....
Hope it helps Have fun... good luck

and for how to remove the emblems
...A good effective way is to heat up the sides of the emblems with a blow drier, not to burn it though, then slide a credit card or something like that under the emblems to cut the glue from underneath. Last use rubbing alcohol to remove the excess glue left on you car. Hope that helps...
Notes: Just use dental floss (make a double or triple strand) and put it between the emblem and the car. Works great, and no scratching. About the rubbing alcohol, my friend tried that on his GS-R and when he removed the white rag, it was red on one side!!!! Just a word of caution... I cant think off another way to get that glue off though... hope it helps.. Good Luck

to remove the "civic" and like "dx" or "ex" badges, just grab some dental floss.. and use it like a saw to cut through the sticky stuff behind the emblem. may take you like 2 peices, but it will work. then use goo gone to get all the sticky off the car. don't use rubbing alcohol.. WAY too harsh for your paint imo
tips with the goo gone:
-try as much as you can to let the goo gone soak into the sticky stuff.. the more you can get to soak on, the easier to remove.
-goo gone recommends you wash the area after using their product
EDIT: i just saw that redline's post included the dental floss trick.

i never knew they made "goo gone" ... i guess that would be a whole lot better then using rubbing rubbing alcohol and having a big blank spot wit no paint where your emblem used to be.. :jawdrop:
