Yeah...they kinda snap in there pretty hard and hold. I don't think you can grab ahold and pull on them without them breaking. When I changed my fender to a z3, I had to remove that side molding and put it on the new fender and it took a little umph to pinch together the clips to get the molding to come off. They are kinda like the metal clips you would find in the dash that hold things together but these didn't looks like they would snap in and out like the metal ones do. Who knows...maybe they do and I didn't want to break anything and pinched them to come out instead of pulling them...who knows...

I have an 89 stationwagon. Does it have clips? I hope not, but with my luck it does, just to make me have to fill in like 5 or 10 lil holes.

taking your side moldings out are kind a hard the ones on the fender, the protective stuff protecting the wheel well off or get it off just enought to get to the clips and then you need to "pinch them and they should come out. As far as the door goes. You would need to remove your door panel, when you removethis you would be able to see the clips and then you just pinch them. As far as the back I have no idea so just be better off to tape them up.

if u go and try to have it painted professionally most places won't even take the molding off cause its too risky and hard to get them to go back on w/o breaking them.
