Default Painting brakes

I'm looking towards painting my front calipers and rear drums. The calipers I know how to do, but for the rear drums, is it necessary to use the adhesive promoter before applying the rust paint? The front calipers don't really need the adhesive. The rear drums are all rusted so, that's why I"m repainting them, after sanding will I need to add the adhesive?

I agree. Painted drums just point's out the fact that you have drums.

they are both metal, why does the rear need them but not the front?

first get rid of all the rust, metal brush works well, then paint it with the rust paint.

I took a look at this DIY article and had a chat with the person who did it
http://www.superhonda.com/forum/show...hreadid=129789

As long as I prep the surface for the front calipers well, adhesive won't be necessary.

And as for the rears I'm painting them flat black like stock, right now the factory paint on the rear drums are all rusted off and I'd like to repaint them, just annoys me to see any rust on the car.

Also, should I use brake caliper paint on the rear drums as well?
