problem after installing new cd deck. help..
Ok, we'll i just picked up a JVC LX10 Kameleon for a good price to replace the OEM honda cd player. I have a 2000 Civic ex, and after going thru the hastle, (and all thoses damn plugs for the air control), I got the unit in fine.
Now for something that didn't happen before i went and messed around.
Now, when using the CD option, I get a little bit of noticable static coming from what sounds to be all speakers. This dosn't happen when the deck is in radio mode thou, only when it plays CD's. Is it a fulty deck? bad oem wireing or speakers?
any help would be greatly aperciated. It was my first time installing a stereo into a car, maybe i just screwed up? I'm sure i wired it in right.

Did you make sure none of the speaker wires are touching each other? Did you cover the wire connections w/ electrical tape, or whatever? Otherwise it could be a faulty deck. Never really heard of anything like that happening before. When it occured, it always occured both with radio and cd.

The guy that sold me the deck said that it could be from the ignition starter, and told me to get a nosie filter to put between the wire.
Also, the deck puts out 50 watts to each speaker, and says it has a small amp inside of it.
i'm using stock civic ex speakers, would that maybe cause of the static if they cannot handle 50 watts, do they handle that?
(edit: found out honda says their radio and speakers are 4X20 watt, which i take it as 4 20 watt speakers, so would that cause static?)
Still dunno why it would just do it for the CD play thou, and not the radio. hope it isn't a faulty deck, dunno this ebay dudes return policy, please help!

ok why did u have to wire it through ignition, what u do is go to car toys, buy the little coversion wire kit that is all color coded, it pretty much matches up with the stock speakers and then has the other end plug right into ur cd player, if you didnt buy that little wire converter thing and went into twisting the wires with ignition and crap like that, then it could also cause some static. Another thing is that im pretty sure that um cd players that are 50 watts require a wire to go staright to the battery to be able to provide enough power, i dunno maybe that could be the reason, lack of power going throug. LMK how it goes

all the wires we're connected right, and the only ones left unconnected were
"illumination/dash light"
"dimmer"
as there was no wire to connect it to from the decks connection wires.
Everyone i talk to said i got screwed, my guess is it was faulty as it shipped, and he just didn't want to admit it.
anyone got reccomentdations on a flat black faced moterized deck other then kameleons?
