Default Polishing Valve cover

I'm wanting to know if it's ok to wetsand with power hand sander. I just finished polishing my alternator bracket to see if I could do it, and I'm addicted. I started off with 220,300,400,600,1000 wetsanding, and finished it off with black then red rouge with a dremel. It looks great. I can't imagine sanding the valve cover by hand.
