Default TEMP guage INSTALL HELP!

alrite i bought some temperature guage becausei accidently broek the needle off mine while putting guages on LOL, and i dont know where the hell im supposed to hook it up to. I think im supposed to tap it into the block somewhere, but idunno where. and also, the temperatures on the guage are in numbers, not hot to cold, so im wondering what is HOT and what is considered COLD, and if i get it hooked up when should i be concerned that its TOO hot if it gets to that (temperature wise). any help is appreciated thanks!

Stock thermostats open at something like 180* degrees so that is normal.

As for where you hook it up I think it replaces the bleeder screw on the coolant thing.

The correct place to put the new sender-is where the old one now lives. Assuming you have an electric gauge, the new sender will screw in and be mas accurate or more so than the stock one. BTW: you cannot reconnect the stock gauge if you do it this way. DO NOT use the bleeder port. As to actual temperature readings-the engine will operate safely at 192-200 degrees and the fans should come on at that temp.
Have fun with the install-plan on taking the distributor off to get in there-other than that it is simple to run a new wire back to the gauge and find power under the dash.

ok, i know im supposed to put the new one in where the old one was but i dont know where that is. and whats a bleeder port. i dont know much about cars, sorry. the temp guage also has some weird stuff in the wire (if its a wire) it says not to crimp or cut the wire cause the chemical stuff will come out. i thoguht maybe i could of found the wire that the old one used and just cut and attach the new one, but its not liek that.

As I suspected-you have a Mechanical gauge and not an electric one. Do yourself a huge favor and return it and exchange it for the electric model. Trust me-been there with the CRX and know for sure you do not want the grief involved-there is no way you will properly install a mechanical gauge on a Honda as far as I can tell from my experience.

The location is under the distributor. You will find 2 senders there. One has a 1 wire on it and the other has 2. You want to work with the 1-wire one only.
Not to seem hard-but you should invest in a Helm manual for the car. They are ~$60 from www.helminc.com. If you are uncomfortable with the ordering process online-call them. MY copy has a ton of Post-It marker tabs and we make copies of pages to use in the shop. Better to dirty copies .
