Default Distributor

I have a 93 D15b V-Tec and I have found out the 93 dist won't work because I did not convert the car ro a 0BD-1 So I need a reg. 88-91 SI dist. But I was wondering if a old acura dist would work. I mean it is a D-series too and a OBD-0 and the civic si dist don't fit anyways so can I just use a 87 Acura one?

No. The ZC/D16A1 style distributor is a freak of its own, sorry.

Drop me an e-mail I have a TD-02U distributor with brand new cap and wires. This is the one you need if you have a D16a6 or similar engine. I also have a spare PM6 ECU.

The one I got is a 93 D15b Distributor. It is out of a civic vx. Question - Since I am using the88-91 distributor do I have to switch my spark plug wires too?

The Civic VX came with a D15Z1. If your distributor came off of a D15B, it's not from a VX.

I aint really look at the engine code. I had just assumed it was a D15b. All I know is it is a 1.5 SOHC v-tec They had told me it was out of a vx but I don't know for sure. I got it for 200 engine and tranny. I just dropped it in and made sure it was running. I am about to pull it back and and power wash it and replace some gaskets.

Well, it is technically a SOHC VTEC-E, and is significantly weaker then a normal SOHC VTEC. It was made for economy, and really isn't VTEC. VTEC-E uses a system of valve deacivation instead of cam profile changing.

$200 for the whole mess is pretty good though.

Beware, the stock VX transaxle has really pathetic gearing.
