I was out driving my car around today and I hit it pretty hard for the first time in a while. I never realized but at 5 grand on these things they pull like a bastard! ZC is definitely fast enough to please me.

The ZC engine is the engine from the 88-91 Japanese Civic Si. It is similar (if not the same) to the D16A8/9 from Europe, and similar to the D16A1 engine from the (86-87?) 88-89 Acura Integra, however the Integra engine has different mounts.

If you get a Browntop (Brown valve cover) ZC from a JDM/EDM 83-86 Civic Si 1.6i-16 or an 83-86 CRX Si 1.6i-16 as well as most 85-88 JDM Integras. You could also use the D16A1 from a USDM 86-87 Integra or a USDM 88-89 if you want to do a lot of rewiring. All of these bolt in, only the 88-89 D16A1 requires major modification. Also note, the real Browntop ZC is rated at 135hp, more powerful then the Blacktop, while the 86-87 D16A1 was rated around 112hp and the 88-89 D16A1 was around 117hp.

I am assuming you have an 86 CRX Si with the D15A3 fuel injected engine. If not, you will have to use a carb'ed ZC or do a full fuel injection set-up.

Or an aftermarket carb setup. (had to say it or 1stgen would)

Turbo kits haven't existed for these cars in years, especially not for a ZC in one. With enough work you can make your own, however, but you'll probably have to relocate the radiator for turbo clearence (or relocate the turbo, etc). If you haven't noticed, the engine bay is very small so you have to plan ahead.

Other goodies do exist for them, such as adjustable panhard rods, rear coilovers, torsion bars, sway bars, short shifters, etc.

Actually the Greddy 92-95 Civic Turbo kit was originally designed for the ZC. However for some reason they just opted to say it was for the 92-95 Civic, however it works perfectly on a ZC. But it might be (well it will be) cheaper to piece together your own kit.

ZC swaps are cool... but i think there kinda weak. If your going to do a swap, do it with some power. Thats just me. If i did a ZC swap... i would have some boost waiting for it. cause u dont want people saying, your car is really quick, u want them to say, that car is bad ass!!

You can buy a used greddy kit cheap. I got mine for $500 and the only thing used was the turbo/mani. I think that's hella cheap. I then sold the FCU for 200 on ebay, not too bad of a buy. That's what I recommend doing.

What I said was for a ZC into a 3G chassis. The greddy kit will work fine for newer chassis, but I really doubt it will fit into a 3G body without a lot of cut and paste.
