Default Cant Adjust Fuel Pressure, HELP!

i am having fuel pressure reg problems. i have a b16 in my rex with an str fuel rail & b&m command flo fuel reg. no matter how i adjust the reg it will not adjust my fuel pressure. it is a constant 78 at idle and down to 60 something for full throtle. what can be causing this? i have bought 2 fuel regulators so far and neither have worked. im not an idiot i know how to install my parts....

Do you have an aftermarket fuel pump? Sometimes an aftermarket pump will increase the fuel pressure more than the regulator can handle. To fix this problem, you have to drill a relief hole in the regulator to bypass extra fuel.

no, no i dont have an aftermarket fuel pump. my old one had around 250k miles on it and just had it replaced with a stock crx pump. could the str high flow fuel rail contribute to it? im totally mind boggled.

Actually it sounds like a vacuum leak. That will cause your FP to sky rocket. Check all of your vacuum lines. Make sure they are not cracked or too big causing a leak.

Yeah, check all the vacuum hoses, especially the one going from the Fuel Pressure regulator to the manifold.

all the lines are cool. is there any possible way that the pressure release valve in the tank is clogged? could that cause the problem. i was speaking to someone today who mentioned that. it was the only thing he said that i hadn't tried already.

fixed!@!@@! i went and got my old si fuel rail i bought not to long ago. today i put it back on...wha la. the aftermarket rail i have, where the fuel pressure bolts on the hole that should be all the way through on the rail...its not. the hole is closed off, thus no pressure regulation at all.

fix:

drill that shiet.

thanks for all the responses guys.
