Default stain removal

My dash has some sort of stain from one of those air freshner cans. Damn those things. I think the sun hit the can and left a stain on the botton. Any way of getting the ring on the dash off??? :-(

Is the stain darker or lighter. If its lighter it may be burnt by the chemicals from the air freshener, this is common with lots of air fresheners. Try using some vinylex.

Another thought-from the trim shop that has helped me with the cars is a dab of Mineral Spirits (small can from Home Depot). This stuff is very safe to use on most any part of the car so far as I can tell. It works great to remove road tar and other marks on the paint. The shop told me to never use stuff like Armor-All on the dash just this. You could try a Q-tip coatedf with a bit of denatured (Home Depot) alcohol. Remember to use a wet towel to cleanup as you go.

The last option I can think of is one of the dash covers-they are really good at protecting the surface from the Sun.

Yeah.. mineral spirits or a small amount of alcohol works wonders on lots of things.. And yes, you should never use armor all. Armor all puts an ingredient in their chemicals that drys out your interior so you use more and buy more. But vinylex doesn't, and lasts forever..
