my boyfriend is working on a 92-95 civic with a 94 GSR swap. Every time the car turns to the right and I drive straight there is a VERY bad vibration. Turning left it does not vibrate at all. We just finished changing out the CV axle with a new one, and its still doing the same thing, so we know its not that. What else could it be?
When the axle was out, we looked into the tranny, and the teeth inside the tranny in the open diff, moved up and down... is this normal? Or could the diff be shot?
Any suggestions you all can give would be appeciated!

Does it vibrate when you brake?
Does it vibrate when your going at slow speed?
Does it vibrate at high speed?
So when you turn right what is shaking the car or the steering wheel?
A loose or broken motor mount may cause vibration.

The 5th gen civic's with the gsr swap need a slightly different drive-shaft, so that would be the likely issue IF the teeth would solid. That piece (98% positive) should be stationary, not loose. Check with your local Honda/Acura mechanic, and get some solid advice. Anyone with knowledge enough to have a 5th gen civic w/ GSR would obviously know that alignment needs attention and would know what that feels like. Plus, unless you had a B series motor, which most 5th gens don't, you already replaced the motor mounts in the process, which would be more constant with the trouble they cause...

Hey everyone.. im ldfrgirl's boyfriend. Here's the scoop:
Here's what the car looks like just for refrence
- Changed out the passenger side CV axle. This is the side that the vibration is originating from. This did not help the problem one bit.
- Initially the car only did it when making a right-hand turn, but since I did suspension work on the car, it is now out of alignment, requiring the wheel to not be held straight, and therefore making the car vibrate constantly.
- When the CV axle was out the teeth in the open differntial that recieve the axle in the tranny were 'loose' feeling.. meaning that you could move then up and down. Can anyone verify that this is normal?
- I have had a friend suggest that the seals in the rack on that side are blown. Although I havent ever heard of this happening, I guess it could happen. Anyone with comments on that?
- I guess thats about it...
