Default 1990 civic tranny problem HELP

Im having problems with my civic 1990. when im on the highway and im going like 70 mph and let go of the gas pedal to slow down. Then when im at like 60 mph i push the gas pedal again it dosent go no were it just rpms high put the car dose not move. Then it when it slows down to 55 then the tranny kicks in. Dose anyone know what this could be. It dosent do it all the time only when the car has been run for a while.

Someone was telling me it could be electric or tranny oil needs to be change he said its not the tranny. but i think it is the tranny going bad.

weird!!!!!!!! counld be anything.
Couple years ago, i had by 87 camaro, late for work on freeway, puched that gas, took off, then nothing. all i heard was the rpm's shooting up. Car came to stop. put trans in park. Sat for a couple minutes, shifted back in2 drive, went back on my way.....But once i got outtta third and into fourth, i could accelerate, get to speed, and hold it, but couldn't speed up again with out coming to stop.
Talk about messed up lol.
But in your case......could be one of three things...... trans, electrical. or both
Good luck, i don't envy your situation.!
