what was wrong with it that made you have to change it. ARe you throwing any codes. I guess my next suggestion should be to just go over your work again check all your connections and plugs and etc.

Check your dizzy, make sure it's in tact. Check your ignitor, and probably your main relay too.

what happens if you hold the gas pedal down. Does it start up fine. When its idling for the 30 seconds does it idle fine or is it rough and sputtering. Have you checked your fuel system.

What's with everyone jumping on the main relay thing lately. Blame it on the main relay! A main relay will normally only keep the car from starting, and only in hot conditions. Other than that, a relay is just a set of switches, so the car with run, or not run. That's it.

Back on topic, if the gasket has any leaks, it can definitely make the car idle higher. Check the idle adjust, and one other thing to try would be to take your tps off and throw it on the old throttle body...

I think it's kind of like when someone first buys a bone stock car, and they ask what should I do. The COMMON answer is intake, header, and exhaust right? Well, when there is a car that is having trouble starting or staying running, the dizzy and the main relay are COMMON problem areas.
