Default Hood Release...HELP!

So the other day I'm going to change some burnt out bulbs in my headlights (park light, blinker)...on my 90 Civic HB
I reach down to pull the hood release under my dash that usually pulls quite hard...
Nothing...pulls really easy...hood doesn't pop....dammit.

Anyone know how I can remedy this situation...I need an oil change and I have to change these bulbs or get pulled over for not having any blinkers on the front of my car...Help!

Thanx for any help...

Do you nkow if the hood release broke where the hood attaches?? or at the button??

there's a way you can spring it open w/a screwdriver. When I had my 5th Gen, my plastic handle broke for the hood release. My Uncle went between the hood and the bumper and jimmyed it open. not sure how he did, but it worked, and didn't scratch the paint or anything.

The handle under the dash still has cable attached to it. I guess I am going to have to try the screwdriver thing...I have no idea what is happening under the hood...because I can't open the hood...sigh...

mine won't open on its own...what i do is open the drivers door all the way and put my left honda under the hood by the drivers side headlights and pull up and try the hood release inside the cockpit...works everytime

The cord runs from under your dash, along the drivers side fender well to the release mechanism. Chances are that is the cable you have. Tugging on it might help, but you're basically tugging on the rubber "shell" of the wire, inside that is the actually metal wire that connects to the release mechanism.

See how it runs down and around to the other side of the mechanism...I don't know if that illustration helped, but it might give you an idea on a different way to approach it.
