Default The Rex Needs Some Stuff

Hey again,
I just found out that the CRX I want to buy is going to need new calipers.. now, I wonder, are these expensive? I wouldn't think they'd be that expensive, but I'd like an idea before I go to the parts store and ask them for a price and I come out wanting to cry... Also, the CRX needs a new hood.. now, I wonder what you all think is the best idea: CF hood or OEM hood painted to match the fading yellow color? Seeing as though this is going to be a winter car, I would think that the OEM hood would be best bet, but what do you all think?

Last but not least, where can I find the little black plastic piece that is on the driver's side corner of the rear hatch? If you can't figure out what I'm talking about, just look at the back of a Rex and you'll see two little black pieces in the corners, and the one large black piece that has the Honda H on it. I need the left hand corner.

Thanks a bunch guys,
RC

Oh yeah, here are the specs on the car:

1990 CRX Si, yellow, 5spd; 177,000 miles
Mint tranny and clutch, replaced about 2,000-3,000 miles ago
Routine oil changes and such
OBX Intake, Header and Cat-back (don't think its the best, but it'll do)
Comes with but not installed: Dropzone 2" springs, BOMZ FSTB (not going to be installed, going with Skunk2 suspension products)

I'm paying $2,300 with the broken hood and fukt up calipers..

Think it's a good deal? Thanks guys.

There is a 90 HF sitting at All Foreign Auto Parts in Pittsburgh-I think it is still there and much of it is still available. Check with your local import salvage yard-they can hook you up.

I know that rears cost $73 each, they might be slightly more then fronts because of all the ebrake crap.

if theres no mechanical problems then it should be pretty cheap to get it going
if you know how to turn your on wrench then the wreckers are a gold mine

i would go with an oem hood from the wreckers and if you say the paint is faded then why not get the whole car painted

and as for the calipers, wreckers agian or just upgrade to a big brake kit, aem and brembo make some nice ones

yeah once you get some $ ditch those obx parts and get a nice aem cai, dc headers, and a skunk2 exhaust

seems like a decent ride, especially with a new tranny and clutch!

Hey,
Just had my mechanic look at the car last night. Rusted to hell in the rear quarters, the front drivers fender is full of Bondo, the rear quarters had some Bondo work in 'em before, and they just spray bombed the rear quarters. He said if I bought the car, he'd have to have me killed. LOL. So it's not happenin..

Looking at a '93 Civic hatch right now..
