the biggest market for stolen cars would have to be civics an crx's. I install many alarms on crx or honda in general. To be honest, an alarm is good to have, but can be overcome if the stealer knows what hes doing and how well the installer hid the main unit. To make sure no 1 steals ur car, i would haev to say the lojack is the best way to go. You cant make ur car 100% non stealable, u can prevent but not 100%. For those that own civcs or crxs go buy a few PIEZO (pain killing) sirens and place them inside the car. If they enter ur car that sirenwill literally make u go deaf, no 1 can stand that ammount of noise inside a sealed area. Good thing is if they cut the power, the siren has a back up battery active up to 30 minutes.

hey short boy, u mentioned u wanted to bypass the solar while the car is runing? if you can show me how u wired it up, i can modify it to meet ur application needs.

i would wire the panel to a relay that would switch when there is no power left in ignition. that would mean the solar panel would have a minimal of 9 volts out to power a relay.

Default ohk,

alright, i am busy with school as finals week is the next two weeks for me and i work full time, so give me a bout a week or so, and i should have one up.

As far as lo jack goes, I didn't know that this was still in use. I was interested in this because, like you said no car is 100% theft proof, so this would ease my confidence, knowing that Bestie can be located. So i recommend this for everyone, lo jack ftw. Those sirens sound like an awesome idea as well, i didn't even know about those.

i have 2 piezos in my honda as well, im actaully scared to enter the car. i forgot my remote at a friends house and had no choice, trust me i would haev to be the theif that gets into your car if u had that. The best place to hide the unit is in center consol. Most of my installs the main unit is hidden in center consol below radio. It uses a hell lot more wire but no1 can get to it. I tap power off the deck and @ ignition so power cutoff is hard to do. "no car is 100% theft proof" yes that is correct, u can prevent it almost 100% if u want to put the money out. That includes top dollar alarm system, sirens, tilt sensor, proximity/microwave sensor. glass breakage sensor, fuel cut off, starter kill, ignition kill. nothing is impossible. i would hate to be the persont aht has to install that for you ahaha. Would take FOREVER and a milion diodes for all ur sensors.

hey ur the -edited- crx with the -edited- right ? i always see it.
hey thanks for tellin me how to turnover ur car =p
time to make an led flashlight.
better watch out cuhh. i kno wher yuu live ;]

but yeah. there are many ways to keep ur car from starting up. but then it'll still get broken into, just not stolen. so if you really don't have anything valuable in ur car, you can just invest into systems that'll make it harder for people to steal ur car. of course they'll still break in and might get mad because they can't start the car and eff up the inside of ur car.. or the outside too.

its much harder to make ur car hard to break in. if you put an alarm system, it'll just alert you/others around the car when someones tryin to break into it. i mean unless ur really near the car, you probably wont' get to ur car in time to get the person. if the surrounding people actually are nice citizens, the alarm will help. But still that is probably the only way to go is for a good alarm that will sound an alarm and also alert you through radio waves to your remote. anything else, they'll still break in, it'll just take longer. people around might get suspicious but they won't give a crap. they will do anything to get into ur car if they want it that much so theres really nothing you can do. theres a new thing in this one state (i forgot which state) where people are stealing cats from underneath ur car. i mean if they can get that done, they WILL break into ur car...

just make multiple systems that make it really hard for them to start the car so it won't get stolen. if yuu have expensive stuff in ur car then... iunno man. i mean you drive a car that is most targeted =P

Yeah i too thought of a siren inside, espeically if it was mounted in a tamper proof case with the wires sealed in either conduit or inconviently hidden behind molding. The perfect position would be mounted directly behind the driver seat on the pillar between the driver window and the back window. F-em up real good...
Off the subject I was curious what companies make dependable alarms with remote warnings whenever the alarm is triggered? Churppers i think there are called.
Yeah idk about good citizens anymore especially when a car alarm is going off, I guess society is just used to so many people accidently sounding there alarm there dont even pay attention.

you cannot stop somebody from breaking a window to enter, but you can delay or deter a theft from steeling the whole car with a steering quick release system:
