What motor oil do you use in your car.
Please state what kind and why. Also should you change oil types in the winter, What would be the benefit to using a thicker oil.

I've been using Castrol SynTec for a while [synthetic blend], up until I started losing oil pressure due to extreme oil heat at a track event [you only really need about 10psi per 1000RPM, I had about 25psi at 6k RPM, had to start short shifting]. Now I'm using 10w-30 Mobil One full synthetic. So far it holds oil pressure better no matter how much I pound on the engine, and pressure doesn't drop below 10psi per 1k. Downside is price, but obviously the upside is piece of mind that I won't be stuck roadside far from home

I'm basically asking because I been talking to alot of different import guys and they all seem to be running some other type of oil. A couple guys are running 20w-40 or50 or the usual 10-30 or 40. Its also starting to get cold out and I want to change my oil this weekend. I've been using valvoline maxlife but I'm ready for a switch and wanted to run what ever was most highly recommended. I tried a synthetic blend and my car seemed to not like it very much so I switched back. I only have about 68000 miles on the engine so I thought I would try and be nice to it till its replacement in the spring.

castrol gtx 10w-40 all year round. If your car burns a little oil, this is the oil for you. In the winter, you need to let your car warm up for like 8 minutes unless you use something thinner.

castro conventional 10w30 with oem honda filter
(i use oem filter cuz it has a bypass valve so oil can pass through on startup when the motor needs it most)
try to use as thin oil as possible
cuz if you use thick oil then its gonna be like maple syrup so to speak so on start up when the oil is cold and thick it will take some time to get to the motor, and we all know that no oil =
