D16a ???
What are the differences between the D16A6 and the D16A??? I sent out for a D16A6 from Rising Sun Engines in Cali. I recieved a D16A, same head but diff driver side enginemount, little help would be appreciated.
D16A is JDM and came in several versions, both OBD1 and OBD2 - one version has VTEC and is basically the same as a USDM D16Z6 with 128hp - another version is non-VTEC and is basically the same as the JDM SOHC non-VTEC ZC with 118hp - the non-VTEC version is a little more powerful than the D16A6 due to having 9.4:1 compression ratio - there is also a VTEC-E version which is also 118hp
Okay that works will the non vtec SOHC D16A ZC couple up with the intake/exhaust and tranny off my old D16A6 (90 CRX Si)?
I was under the impression thats the engine I needed and thats what I have now.

it will bolt up to the transmission, intake and exhaust, no problem - you will need to take the driver's side mount, that bolts to the block, off your old engine and swap it onto the D16A - the D16A should have the MAP sensor on top of the throttle body, where your Si had it on the firewall - you need to unplug the connector from the MAP on the firewall, extend each of the three wires slightly so that it will reach the throttle body and plug it in there - your D16A6 had the cooling fan switch on the back of the block right next to the oil filter (big round black rubber boot connector wit 2 wires, one black and one yellow with green stripe) - the D16A should have the cooling fan switch on the thermostat housing - you need to extend the 2 wires to reach the thermostat housing and install a different 2 -wire connector which you can probably get from a salvage yard from any 92-up Civic, Integra, etc. - the alternator on the D16A uses a 4 rib belt - if the engine came with alternator, you are set - if it didn't you can't use the D16A6 alternator (which uses a 3 rib belt) without also using the D16A6 crank pulley - i would stay with the PM6 ECU - you could use the 88-89 Integra PG7, but it may run a little rich - you will also need to use your Si distributor

yes, the stock Si engine is the D16A6, but the JDM D16A is going to give you a little more power
I believe but may be mistaken that the head is off a D16A6, everything on the two engines except the driver side mount looks Identical, do I have to remove the mount from the engine or can I sub the car side mount for the correct piece?
they do look identical and for all practical purposes they are - did it come with intake manifold, injectors, throttle body, etc. or just block wth head, timing gear and oil pan? - you need to swap the engine mount
