Default help.crx problem

i just got done putting a new intake mani and aem fuel rail on my 89 crx.i started it up and the rpms jumped up to redline i turned it off and started it a couple more times now the idle is jumping from 2 to 4000 rpms.any reasons why?

Vacuum leak. Check the intake manifold gasket and all the hoses.

is there a good way to do that.i tried feelin for any air anywhere but cant find a leak.

You gotta check the hoses and such

But seeing as the problem came after the manifold installation....it prolly didnt get sealed right..Redo it or put the old one back on

Were both of the gasket mating surfaces between the head and manifold completely flat and clear of old gasket that may have stuck to it?

If the above mentioned things are checked and seem to be in good order, then an old/faulty/damaged IACV could be part of the problem.

Also check for leaks at the mating surface for the throttle body-to-intake manifold.

did u go from dpfi to mpfi. and only change the manifold and injectors
