Sleeper cars rule. IMHO they are far more fun than show cars and when you wreck them, you can put the drive train in a new vehicle for next to nothing and not feel so bad about all the expensive body panels that got trashed.
They also don't draw the attention of law enforcement.

Im glad I race autocross on a track... where there are only pylons to hit, that dont do damage to your car...
Keep it on the track and you have nothing to worry about.

Whether u race an import or not, a show car will ALWAYS draw more attention... Both theives and from cops... And you ALWAYS have things that can damage your car... He didnt actually say whether or not he raced on the street or on a track... Just that if it does happen, its easier (mentally) to replace... Makes perfect sense too me... I have a mostly "show" car, maybe not in terms of the typical "show" insipred look by definition, but in terms of how much Ive spent in appearance vs performance, Id be VERY upset to have something happen too it... I can understand wanting something where u really dont have to worry about appearance so much... Ive considered getting a daily driver/beater/sleeper for a long time now, and keep the rex in the garage 80% of the time...
