damn rex........
so i started a project this weekend expecting to get it done the first day if not the second early on. well it started a little like this, i have a replacement motor in my garage so i was going to swap that in also new suspension. so i planned on getting it done really quick. but no it all turns to hell with this 18 year old car (88 crx). first once i start to take all the hoses off, i realize that they are all so old that they arent coming off. so i end up having to cut most of them off because they were so sun rotted. then once i started tyring to take the clips off i go to pull the engine wire harness out and it literally rips off. so i call my buddy and get his old wiring harness. then once i get all that bs out of there. i start on the more mechanical side and start taking axles out and what not. well sure enough the cv boots break in half on both sides. so then i have to rebuild those. then i finally got the motor out on sunday afternoon. from there i am starting to get a little worried its just hitting about 3 in the afternoon, and i havent even started the other motor. and just to put the pressure on i have to drive that to work at 7 in the morning. so then as we start putting the motor in with a cherry picker on my own. not the funnest thing if you have ever tried you would know. then as we start getting the motor in its about 11 at night cause i had to go through and pull of all of the hoses and what not. we finally get the motor in after a now broken cherry picker. doesnt want to go up or down anymore. so we are rushing to get it together and the next thing i know the sun is rising and we still have a few hours of work. so at this point i decided to give it a rest and get ready for work. i ask all of my roomates for a ride and no one will. hmm well screw them. so i finally got my dads old car and drove to work now i have more not done car at home to attend to tonight.
rant over.....

ya i know i told every single one of them to fuck off cause i have helped them so much and they all just sat in the house and watched tv. while i slaved away in the garage. the sad things is there is only one of them that doesnt know how to work on honda's. its pathetic.

That's one helluva rant though. Sorry to hear all that crap broke on the way out. I had a similar problem with my rex when I did the b16a swap a couple months back.
I got the old engine out and new engine in the same day it came in(as well as getting it started!) That took all day, so I decided to finish up everything the next day. Fat chance! I found out that I (or shipping) had put a crack in the transmission casing
and was leaking oil out the wazoo. Unfortunately this was late night(around 9pm), since I had school that day, so fixing it was out of the question, so I just drained the transmission overnight. The next day, I finally got to put some J.B. weld on it (works miracles
!) and let it dry for a few hours. Put some fluid in, and SHIT! still leaks. So I let the transmission dry overnight again, and re-applied more J.B. weld the next day to strengthen up the patch(which, by the way, the tranny still leaks a little bit
). That was day 4, day 5 I just filled up the tranny and that was it. Took her to a muffler shop to have the flanges on the car lined up properly, and drove her home. Unfortunately, for 2 weeks I drove without vtec working, since my speedo cable wasn't hooked up, and I didn't know how to hook it up. Finally, I figured out that u have to remove the electrical speed sensor first to be able to hook up the cable properly(why didn't any websites mention this
?).So after 5 days of work, and 2 weeks of wondering, I finally had a working car. Unfortunately, my car was out for 3 weeks prior to that, due to my old d16a6 engine blowing on me. So for a month I was bumming rides from my buddies. Oh, but 2 months after the swap, the axles that came with the swap were starting to crap out.
What a rant, sorry didn't try to thread jack, just comparing my story with yours. Hopefully, your project doesn't take as long as mine did.
