it's been done successfully and posted about it here. I've done one myself (92 EG) and loving it. It's basically a CR-V drivetrain in a Civic's body. Don't listen to all the haters talking shit while they know nothing about it.

Well congrats, you shoud get a cookie.
With the money and fab work, you prob could have gotten a quicker, cheaper and more durable REAL AWD vehicle *cough Subaru, DSM cough*
You want AWD, get one of those, save your money( more money to get a little better AWD, Audi, VW, Acura), time trouble and headaches.

It took me from thanksgiving weekend to before christmas to get it complete working off and on during weekends. The only fab I had to do was the upper tranny mount, modifying the CR-V's rear trailing arms and rerouting the exhaust.
Oh yeah, and it has been working flawlessly since then (3+ months)
Can I have another cookie now ?
