Default starter question

I recently installed a new starter in my 1990 Honda Civic. Now when I turn the key to crank the engine, unless I am very gentle and quick with the key, there comes a grinding sound from the starter – the same noise you get when you mistakenly turn the ignition key when your car is already running. The car starts, but that noise can’t be good. Any ideas what’s causing it?

Did you get a new starter or rebuilt one?

I would have to say there may be a problem with the rebuilt starter. How long have you had it?

Just about a month or so. Do you think the solonoid might be bad or something, so that it's not disengaging from the flywheel as it should immediately when the car starts?

That's exaclty why i hate buying reman. or cheap parts. Now your going to have to remove and reinstall that biatch again, with perhaps another one that works correctly.
