D16A1.

The 86-87 will be less of a pain-in-the-ass since it used a vacuum advance distributor and electrical system similar to the 84-87 Civic. They are easy to identify due to their brown valve cover.

Convert to 86-89 Integra disc brakes. The fronts will be easy, since you will install them along with the engine swap.

Civic/CRX blacktop ZC's and Civic/CRX/Integra SOHC ZC's will not directly bolt into your car. You need a Civic/CRX/Integra browntop ZC or 88-89 Integra blacktop ZC to bolt in. Importers do not adverise these engines, you have to special order them.

Stock SOHC EW/D engines are not practical to turbo due to their odd exhaust manifold flange, no one makes a turbo manifold for it that I know of (since HKS stopped in the early 90's.) Integra D16A1's and browntop ZC's will take a standard D-series turbo manifold, making them a much better choice. Radiator clearance may be a problem though, you may have to get creative.
