Default 91 CRX Will not Start *please help*

I have a 91 Honda CRX, it cranks over but will not start. Sometimes it will start and immediatly die, as if it were out of gas. I have checked: Fuel pump, fuel filter(replaced), battery, plugs/wires(replaced) and still nothing. I have no idea where to go from here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, it could be either spark or fuel. Check for spark first. Did u check your distributor cap and rotor? Also check ignition coil. Check physically for spark, best to do if there's another person helping u. If all checks out, then it could be fuel or even timing. Check ecu for codes too. Post the codes if you're getting any. My b16 didn't wanna stay idling, but it was throwing the iacv code. Checked, and the sensor was just unplugged.

is it a smooth turn over, i have had many problems starting my car back in the day and first it was a bad fuel pump and then i replaced the motor and the timing was off. like ef-hatch said check the timing and fuel that is where your problem is at!

I have spark, and am just routing fuel lines making sure everything is ok. When turning over it's kind of slow, but other than that it seems smooth. It almost act's like it's out of gas, but there is fuel? I have no clue...if you have any other idea's?

The only problems i've had with my Hondas not staying cranked other than a broken timing blelt is a bad main relay or ignition switch. Of course, i've always kept them tuned up(good wires, plugs, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, etc.).

Do You smeel fuel. If Not, check your Main Relay. Try taking your main realy out and flicking it a few times. You prolly need a new one.

If it's cranking really weak, it could be your battery or starter.

It does smell like gas when it cranks. I had the battery checked and it was a little low, so I had autozone re-charge it. I am thinking it could be the starter or fuel injectors? I checked my timing belt yesterday and it seems to be in fairly good condition. I bought this rex about 5 month's ago from this chick who did not take care of it. So it's in pretty bad shape, but ran fine with a slight ticking. And just recently died, so I guess i'll check the starter next, any other ideas? Thanks guys.

I had the same problem on my 91 hatchback and took to the dealer and changed the ignition switch and the fuel pump and the problem went away, I think I even got better accelaration from the new pump.
