bah. leave all that to toyota. if they want a sales boost, then bringing back a Honda fav. is their best bet. they would satisfy the import world.

i 2300 pound car with a k20 is what i am thinking. idk what the plans are for the engine.

I did some research on this a wile ago, the J-spec 2007 CRX is supposed to be build on the same platform as the Insight Hybrid. It would come out with a 1.0L DOHC V-tech having about 140hp in the standard, or a 1.6L High Output DOHC V-tech with about 170hp. I guess it supposed to weigh in at a little over 1700lbs, so the torque to HP ratios are supposed to be off the charts. It might come out lookin a little like this, or this is what the Concept model looks like

If that were true it would be an absolutely amazing little car with either engine, but sadly that all just sounds too good to be true.

I'm afraid that the new CRX will have about the same problem that todays new Si has, which is that it'll just be too heavy. It'll need all the airbags that a regular car has, people will want power everything and by the time they give it a motor that will have comparitive fuel economy to the old CRX it just won't be as fast as everyone hopes it could be.

That was a photochopped Insight that started floating around the internet at least 3 years ago it was supposed to be the 04,05,06,07 crx its just a good photochop. There are at least 4 other photochops running around based off EPs and now the 8th gen civic. I have recently heard real claims about a new CRX but if that does ever pan out dont expect a 2300 pound car. The chevy Aveo doesnt even weight in as light as 2300lbs. You will get something like the Del Sol a heavy 2 seat car that 2nd gen CRX owners will be unhappy with. I would rather see a 8th gen Civic Type R in the states.

Naw, from what i have been reading about the new CRX should be out between now and 08. It should have the stuff i was talking about, but because its built on the hybrid frame it shouldnt be all that heavy, but sure with all the extras it probably would end up that way
