Default Should I really have put a 6 puck clutch in?

I bought a F1 Racing Stage 2 clutch kit. This was to replace the seemingly OEM pressure plate and Street/Strip ACT disc that was in there. It grabbed pretty decent when I had the s/s in there. But I was jsut wondering with all that I have done to my car should I have gone with a 6 puck instead of another street/strip disc? I have heard that 6 puck clutches are tough, but they get old for everyday driving and they are very touchy. But my clutch still has to break in more, I ran it a little hard a couple of times, and I smelled clutch, is that because it is not broken in yet? Well the pedal effort didn't really change, just a litle bit.
