Default OBD-0 MiniMe...Which VTEC controller?

hey there, its been a while since ive posted. I just had a few questions about doing a mini-me setup using an OBD-0 ECU (the PM6). In order to activate VTEC i know i need like an RPM swtich or an APEXi or Spoon VTEC controller. The thing is those are way out of my price range. I could not find any info on others, but here are my other options that might work

Buddy Club VTEC controller:

Ebay Buddy Club VTEC controller

OR

this no name one

Ebay No Name Vtec Controller

So basically, will either of these need to be connected to an OBD-1 VTEC ecu or will it work with my PM6 alone?

thanks

trev

What's the point of VTEC if you aren't getting the extra fuel you need? You need to use the ECU that goes with the head of the motor you are getting or it is almost pointless.

I see where your coming from and if i had the money and time I would convert it to OBD-1. But since i dont have it my only options are to either get a VTEC controller to activate the VTEC or find one of the few OBD-0 VTEC ecus like the b16 ecu - but then i gotta be careful how high i rev.

and believe it or not the gains are somewhat decent (obviously not as big as a decent engine swap) when u are using the d16Y8 head, intake manifold and half of the Y8 gasket on a d15 block. the compression is pretty high....but then again it all depends on what your used too

Use an RPM switch. It does the same thing and is much cheaper.

As mentioned, some form of fuel and/or ignition timing control would be nice.

Is an obd-1 conversion really that hard or expensive?

obd1 conversion wire harness is only $105.00 and you can get it from boomslang fabrication or Rywire.com. and it's not that hard at all
