Default b16a starter equivalent

I've got a JDM b16a with a bad starter. It's from a '92 Integra. I'm having a hard time being able to order a new one locally because noone has a catalog that has JDM parts. They either have Honda or Integra but don't know which one to order.

Does anyone know which Honda/Integra cars have a starter that I can use in place of the JDM one?

Is there a list online anywhere of interchangeable motor parts (years/cars)? It would be very helpful.

when my B16 tranny broke i got an LS tranny and I used the B16 starter with no problems. Try getting one from an Integra or a 99-00 Si. Most B series parts are interchangable

I just ordered a b16 starter (del sol vtec) and when it came in I found that the bezel gear didn't stick out as far as the starter from the b16a. It looked like it was about 1/4" shorter. Also, the positive lead connection is on the end, not out of the top. That shouldn't matter though. I didn't install it because I wasn't sure if it would shoot out far enough to engage the flywheel.

When they looked up the Integra starters, the only motor options on the U.S. models was 1.7 and 1.8, not the 1.6. They ARE b-series though.

Aren't the 99-00 Si's a d-series?

99-00 Si came with the DOHC vtec motor B16a2. Did you make sure the del sol one was the DOHC vtec and not the SOHC vtec?

Someone told me that I can use the starter out of a '91 Integra GS. Which motor is in that one?

Too late to try that one. When I saw that the bezel was shorter, I didn't even bother taking it home. If it didn't work, I'd be out the $150 and still not have a starter!

Actually, I think I may have my problem solved. A friend of a friend rebuilds starters and alts in his garage. Assuming he can get the right parts, I should be all set.

Seems too easy so I'm a little worried!
