Again could have been searched for but...
if i am correct i am pretty certain you should get the CAI that matches the motor.SO stick with the intake for a b16.

sellout :chuckles:

Any aftermarket D-series intake will not fit.
AEM makes ones for hybrid applications.

Incorrect. I had a CAI for an 89-91 CRX D16 motor. When I did my swap it fit on the B16 just fine. However, the ref told me that I need either the CAI that was made for the B16 or I need to replace it with the stock airbox in order to pass smog. Just a little something to keep in mind if you still need your carb badge.

aem makes a cai that is specific to the b16/18 swap into the crx. it probably is illegal in cali though, use the STOCK D16a6 intake for inspection as mentioned above.

odd, the D TB is much smaller, I dunno how you made it fit.

I think it depends on the intake... The TB on the D is def much smaller than that on the B16... But most aftermarket intakes are also bigger to begin with... And when you tighten down the screw clamps they fit onto the smaller D, but will also work on the larger B... Atleast thats what I heard... My intake is 3", anybody know the diameter on the B16 TB?

I just went out and measured my D16A6 (sitting in my garage) and it looks to be about 2.75"...

It would be easy to slap on a B series, BUT, due to the shitty location of the battery on the 4th gens ([sarcasm]thank you Honda![/sarcasm]), it will not fit... So its either take your chances with an after market D, buy a B16 intake and relocate the battery, or get the AEM hybrid... The AEM is probably the best choice, but its also more expensive...

Exempt got it right on. The AEM is soo much more for that aplication. when i did my swap my after market intake worked from my 90 dx on the b16. i juat had to cut it really short til i got my stock intake back then i just used the the long part to get me by the battery and hooked up the piece i had left from the after market one. i havnt relocated my battery yet but its a for sure thing looks cleaner in your engine bay and you just have more room to work with. so you would be safe with a aftermarket one for your d- series just might be a little tight fit on the TB.

If you don't want to shell out the cash, making your own is def an affordable option.
