Default MSD Ignition question

I jsut recently bought a MSD Ignition Blaster coil, and a MSD distributer cap with external for blaster coil. I also bought a MSD ignition control box. The one I bought was the MSD 5. Here is the link http://www.truckstuffusa.com/msd5igbymsdi.html
. Will it work for a 4 cyl, will it help my car?

I have everything you just mentioned but I have a 6Al box. And the external coil did more for the car then the box. But it never hurts, helps at high rpms.

The MSD 6-series is an analogue captive-discharge ignition. That's what you wanted. The 6AL is the basic 6A box plus a "soft" random cylinder ignition cut rev limiter.

The MSD 5 is a simple analogue multi-spark system. Nothing really special.

If it was up to me, I'd have gotten a Crane Hi-6 or a Jacob's FC1000. Both of those are digital captive-discharge units.
