Where is the engine code located? Will the code only tell you which engine it is or the year/make of the original car as well?

The code itself will tell u about the engine (displacement, generation, ect), but there is a way to tell which car it came from with the serial (found directly underneath the engine code), but I dont know off hand how, youd have to look it up somewhere...
