Weird noise when I brake or pass thru rough road
I have an 88 crx si and when I brake or my front tires hit a rough road I can hear a noise and it sounds like some part of my suspention is loose, but when I checked the other day I couldnt find the problem. What could it be?
i had that problem... thought it was bushings or tie rods or whatever forever... couldn't figure it out... just did a zc swap and when i was removing/changing the axles, the right one (the side the noise was coming from) was broken. so you could give that a shot, or any of the other things i first listed. good luck.

I had a similar symptom. My wheels also seemed "weak" when going over rough terrain (rail crossing...). The faulty thing in my case was a bushing in this part i don't know the name for in english. It is a "U" shaped metal thing that goes around your spring and holds the rod that goes down to your brake rotors. Well the bushing on that "U" shaped thing.
Upper control bushing. (The "u " shaped thing).
I thought mine was loose calipers, lower control arm bushings, tie rods (inner and outer), shock mounts, axle, wheel bearing or ball joints. I replaced the front shocks and noticed the new upper control arms I installed a few months ago were loose. I tightened the bolts on the two mounts and noise is gone.
By the way, my calipers have some play and so does my axle on the tranny side (normal).
