Default junkyard engines

ok if i was to go to the junkyard where theres alot of hondas and acuras could an engine from there be just as good from gettin one online? and which one would it be?

Usually ones from online (Nippon or Soko) are compression tested and sometimes come w/a startup warranty.

If you get one from a junkyard it's a crapshoot. Good luck. I personally wouldn't get one from an autoyard without checking it thoroughly (compression, etc).

I'm not sure what you are asking for your sencond question....which one would what be?!

there are some junkyards that keep good care of engines...enough that they may work with little work...but those places usually take out the engine and put it in a warehouse on pallets...i wouldn't buy one that's been sitting in the elements (there's a overpriced junkyard near me that has over 10 honda d series motors sitting outside on pallets all rusted up (even the plug wires & spark plugs are removed letting water pool up in the cylinder head...i saw some mosquitoes in one...yuck

i'd order it instead of taking my chances with a junk motor
