whats the difference between the d16a6, d15b1, d15b2... wich one will give more power and bolt on without too much of a hassle?? and would a d16a1 fit??

the d16a6 will have more power than the d15's...They will all bolt on with little or no mods and as far as the a1 i am not too sure about that but if you do a search and type in Mini-Me you will be able to find quite a bit of write ups on here!!

Holy Christ, you guys don't know what's going on.

You mean a D16A1 head. That's completely different then a D16A6 head. Fitting a ZC type DOHC head to a D15A3 isn't impossible, it is just very impractical to the average home mechanic. If you want more details, ask.

There is no (better) head that can easily swap onto the D15A3 block. I'm a former '87 Si owner myself, I looked into it before only to find no easy solution to the 12v non-CVCC head problem.

A lot, none of which had to do with 3G cars.

An 86-87 D16A1 is a bolt-in job to an 84-87 Civic/CRX.

Helpful, yes. Hard, yes. The block needs be be drilled out and tapped to use an Integra head bolt in, if memory serves, the middle rear location. The cooling ports should line up close enough to work. The main problem is the timing belt... there is no stock timing belt that will work. You have to use, I believe an old Accord crank pulley, and a special sized genaric timing belt trimmed a bit narrower to fit. This isn't a normal head swap, I've only heard of it being completed once by a specialty racing shop to get a 1.5L DOHC to fit regulations of a certain racing class that wouldn't allow a 1.6L block. Search redpepperracing.com for more details.

Yes, the D16A1 uses a standard modern D series exhaust manifold bolt pattern. ZC cams are a direct swap.

You should install a complete D16A1 engine, not just the head. It will make more power. The D16A1 head is compatable with all DOHC ZC pattern blocks, but you'll need to stay with a D16A1 or a browntop ZC..

A D16A1, simply because you can get one of those in and running for under $1k. Plan on spending $4K+ to get a B18B in there.
